OK, so I ended up not going to the beach like I said I would.
When the time came to pick between a 10minute walk plus a 20minute bus-ride to go to the beach or just jump in the pool … I did the latter 😊
And as there were plenty people there it turned out to be fun too.
Later on the evening there was some kind of ballet-show at the square I mentioned before, which well turned out to be not my cup of tea(possibly partially due to that it was well crowded and still kinda hot).
The day after I did a trip which got promoted at the hostel, it was a trip to 3cenotes in the area and it involved some peculiar transportation methods.
First we( I went with two more dudes from the hostel, both from the US) took a collectivo(which is like a minivan-cab which U share with other people) then we needed to either walk quite a bit or use bicycle-taxis(which we did) and then the actual tour started as we got on a carriage on a railroad-track pulled by a mule :p
This lasted about thirty minutes until we arrived at our
first cenote, where we were told to have about 30minutes to swim as we pleased, which we did eagerly as it was getting quite hot already.
I didn’t bring my camera on this trip as it was a swim trip and there wouldn’t be any safe place to store it, OK if I had brought it, it would have turned out to be fine though as there weren’t a lot of people there..
But if U google cenote, U can get an impression of what they looked like, as they were all 3(one open, one closed and one half open) just as beautiful as the pictures U get from the internet.
First was the closed one, which meant we needed to climb down a ladder trough a little hole in the ground which led us to a cave where the pool was located, it was quite cold down there, which was nice, and lid by a series of lights.
After being fully cooled down we went back up the ladder and continued to the next cenote by donky-cart, which took about half an hour again.
This one, the half open one, was my favourite I guess as there was sunlight
el Castillo
main temple in Tulum and thus really beautiful but it still was plenty cool and gave a feeling of being all alone in the world(we were all by ourselfs in there too).
After that we continued to the last cenote and afterwards returned to the hostel.
Where after some splashing around in the pool, all the dudes decided to go out for dinner together, which were about ten of us 😊
As my last supper in Merida I had a pizza for 6euro which I didn’t even finish because it was too big :o
After that we went to do some beer-shopping and went back to relax at the hostels patio where every night a real mariachi comes to play some mexican songs.
The day after I had to hurry to catch the bus to Cancun and arrived at the bus stop just in time to hop on.
The ride again turned out to be very comfortable and in Cancun I had a fast connection to Tulum, where I was going to spend the following few days.
Once in Tulum I went to search for the place where the Italian couple advised me to go and booked a room there.
This hotel/hostel is
located just outside of tulum town, so everything is quite a bit cheaper and at a 5min walk to the ruins and 10 to the beach ideal for some slow paced living... which I was out for after 20 days of living in cities.
The first day I went to the beach and after resting a bit on the white sand under a(very small 😊 ) palm-tree, I swam a bit in the Caribbean see, which was every much as blue as U can imagine.
At around 3pm I went back to have some lunch and a little siesta.
Later on the evening I found out that all public life stops around here at 7pm so I needed to take a taxi to town to have some dinner and drinks.
This morning I went to the Tulum ruins at opening time and was the first person on the site which gave a nice feeling, as it doesn’t happen every day that U can be all by yourself in the midst of Mayan ruins..
And as I got to the seaside of the city I found an amazing view of the sea, beaches and buildings alongside the cliffs.
After
And some more ruins.
Although i guess u could've figured that one out on yourself by now ;D some more wondering around and resting in the shades I moved back to the hostel to have breakfast and …. write this entry 😊
So I am currently in Tulum, the weather is nice, the sea is great and I have not a care in the world 😉
Life as it should be …
Cheers,
P.

Hola y muchas gracias Pedro
Como estas hoy? Has disfrutado mucho ? Thanks for your latest posting. Interesting info on your latest activities, nice pics and nice sub-headings of those pics. You are now more alternating relaxation and the serious stuff and your pace is lessening. Being alone isn't easy, if you want to go out for a swim. Where must you keep your belongings ? The ending of your message, leaves no doubt. You are really enjoying your stay. The real world is far away. Keep this feeling all along and your world trip will be a success. Big hug from both of us.
