Mexico - Tulum

Our flight from Havana ended up being delayed by 4 or 5 hours, so we ended up wasting a whole day travelling and didn't arrive in Tulum till late on the evening of 3rd January. We were staying at a place called El Paraiso. The rooms were fine .. just a shame they weren't beachfront .. instead they looked onto a sandy car park .. not quite the seaview promised by the agent!!

The next 8 days in Tulum were exceedingly lazy ... so much so that we didn't even make it down to visit the ruins which were only about a kilometre up the beach!! The beach at Tulum is amazing ... the whitest of sand and the most turquoise of seas .. stunning. Most days we ended up drinking cocktails from mid-afternoon onwards! We met some Irish girls, English lads and an Aussie couple who were staying a few places down the beach from us, so we spent the next few days out with them each night, which was a right laugh.

On Vic's last night we moved down the beach to a beachfront bungalow which was lovely. Really nice to go to sleep with the sound of the waves. Early the next morning it was time for me to go ... heading down to Belize.
