It was very windy again today so we ditch our idea of hitting the beach and head towards downtown San Miguel to cruise around on the scooter and see some new sights.

Our first stop is an old Catholic church in an area called Corpes Christy (not sure on spelling.) We have heard this is a desireable area to rent or buy condos. The streets are pretty clean and buildings are higher end than some areas, but not as high end as out near the golf course. It's a few blocks from the ocean but much closer to downtown than where we are. The church is a beautiful building, about 100 years old. Very well maintained and still actively used. A local man driving by on a scooter slows down and makes a cross on his body as he passes by. We enter and take a few photos, there is no one there except a janitor, pretty cool.

Across the street is a nice little park, fairly clean. People sitting around, others walking their dogs. Too bad much of this park is tagged with spray paint.

Afterwards we drive around some new streets. We run a few errands then stop in at Sam's Club which is a large box store almost identical to Costco, exclusive for members only. Although we aren't members, we ask for a day pass at customer service. After a lengthy phone call to her supervisor, she agrees and gives us a card. Most of the stuff they sell is in packages that are way too large for our purposes but Ian picks up a new bathing suit and we also pick up a package of ground beef that looks pretty good. So far the ground beef we've had here has been very dry. We stop at their outdoor restaurant for lunch and share a pizza. Some pizza here is crust with ketchup and cheese, so pretty much disgusting. This pizza is is good! Ham and pineapple, nice sauce, cheese, not spicy - a pleasant surprize.

We have to return the scooter after lunch, so we hang out at the pool for a bit, then take a walk to town and back to get some exercize. We barbeque hamburgers for dinner which turn out to be the best burgers we've had here so far. Yay for decent ground beef! Did I mention that 2 lbs cost $4 US?

Ian goes out with some of our neighbors to listen to a band while I head to bed early as usual. Part of battling Crohn's disease every single day is that I get tired pretty early. I'm lucky that Ian is so understanding and supportive, I guess there's worse things he could have than a wife who goes to bed early.
