La Maestra Lillian
She teachers math to all three grades. She is very nice. She speaks a little english which helps. She also teacher a class in programming computers. I have two computer class. The other one is using programs like Word. Hey Everyone,
How is everyone doing on this fine day? I am doing super. Why you might ask. Well today is my first day of vacation. I am so excited 😊 !! I won't have to go back to school until January 8th, 2007! I still didn't get my gift from the Yankee Swap but oh well. I am too happy and nothing is going to make me upset or sad. Let me catch you up with my life so far. ¨
Monday Night
Monday night was pretty awesome. I didn't go to the concert because my friend never called me. 😱 Big shock, I know. I am working on accepting that is how people here are. They are always late or sometimes just don't call and/or show up. I am super compulsive about that type of stuff. If you say you are gonna call me, or we are gonna go somewhere and you don't, I get really bent outta shape. I think I have let go a lot here though. It still bugs me but I don't go crazy over it. It turned into a pretty fun night anyway. My host parents went to Guadalajara because my father's brother
Carmen
She is the host sister of Gun, from Thailand. She is a cool person. She is kinda my first Mexican friend. She is 16, even though she looks younger. She plays soccor, which is pretty cool. had died of a heart attack. He was like 70! My host sister, Fabiola, came home around 10 and had 2 movies. We stayed up til 3 a.m. watching them. Thats what happens when the parents leave us alone. hahah Eventually around 12 or 1, Gaby came home and brought us coke and chips. It was a pretty great night. I love just spending time with my sister. For me, I love having sisters. I mean I love my little brother, but it is cool to experience another type of family. The next two families I will go to both have kids younger than me. There is Mario, who is 7, in one family, and then two girls, 14 and 5, in the other one. I know Mario's family better, which is why I hope I go to the other family first. I don't want to change in January but it is a rule, and to be honest, I got more time with this family than I should have, so I guess I have to be grateful. I will get 3 months with the next family and like a month and 1/2 with the last one because I will be touring the south part of México during the entire month of May. I am actually going to have my birthday in Puerto Vallerta at the Rotary Conference, so I am really excited.
Tuesday
Yesterday was ok. I went to school and the money problem was settled. Thank god! So I took my math test. It was pretty easy except for the last two problems. Most of it is stuff I learned last year in Geometry with Mr. Soden. Then I took the geography test. It was also pretty easy. I think I got a ten because it was all easy stuff, like What is an earthquake? and What are longitude and latitude? I did however recieve the bad news that I got a 6, which is like a D, on my Orientacion Vocacional test. The part that stinks is I did study. I am so use to getting A's all the time, not having perfect grades here is really hard on me. I try the best I can, and I am trying to accept that. I just am a little fustrated. I wasn't gonna let it ruin my day or my vacation though. I finished and was out of there at 11:30. I was on the internet for most of the day because my host mom wasn't there to be controlling. I watched the tv too. I know it is very exciting. I was gonna go to a
posada or Christmas party with my friend Carmen, but no one was home and there was a big issue getting a taxi. I hope we can do something today though. I did however do 1 productive thing. I wrapped my Christmas gifts finally. They look really nice. I will put a picture up asap. Only 5 days til Christmas!!! yay!! I don't know what I am doing today, but I hope something fun. I do need to go walk to the
papelería, which is like staples but much smaller, to buy some bags fot my gifts that I couldn't wrap, ribbions, and those tags that say
To and
From. All the stores here are little family owned ones. I mean we have malls, but there are a lot more family run buisnesses here. Pretty much every corner has a little
farmacia which is like a small pharmacy without the drugs. They are like the little stores you find at the gas stations. They are good for when you want a snack. Well I am gonna go. I miss you and love you all. Leave me some comments.
Happy Holidays,
Shayna
