Another day, another temple or two! Decided to stay in El Panchan another night (mainly because the pizza there that I´d seen people eating the night before looked delicious!) and visit some more temple ruins which are close to the Guatemalan border.

First I spent hours on a bus to get to a river where I went on a boat for 45 minutes to get to Yaxchilan. The ruins here were really nice. As it is a bit of a hassle to get there, there were hardly any other tourists there which was nice.

Also saw some cute monkeys hanging in the trees and a few little snakes- yikes!

Then back along the river and more bus journeys to get to Bonmpak- temple ruins that were only discovered 60 years ago. The main attraction here are brightly coloured murals showing battles and sacrifices (women puncturing their tongues and fingernails being pulled off- nice!)

Although the temples are lovely, think I´m getting slightly ´templed out´!!!!!
