hello all,
wow... my worst false preconception of coming south was that is would be tropical hot, na that is not the case. here in the mountains we (being me and all the other travelers) are wearing beanies, scarves, gloves, wool sweaters...the whole nine.
well with that said i think as far as mexico goes this is my favorite place yet. i actually like the chill in the air, it kinda reminds me of home.
so getting here was a gorgeous drive although because of zapitista uprising it took closer to 17 hours verses the predicted 13. it was long and seaing all the rebels on the side of the road with there baliclavas and woldin sticks was quite a trip. initially i was quite startled but then i looked arould and nobody else was and i realised it was ok. during the road blocks alot of people even got of the bus and took photos, i didn't . not even because i didn't want to but because my camera battery died last night, so i admit i have no pictures of the drive here. but i will be leaving the same way so i will take photos on the way out.
as far as san cristabel goes, i love it!! i want to stay here for atleast another 2 nights, before i go to palenque. there are the best markets here and wicked cheap food and the hostel i am staying at is only 50 pesos a night, thats the most affordable yet. i like it. oh and a lot of other funky travelers, it's going to be a good stay.
lots of love,
and i will take pictures tonight.

holla amiga
Hey Dove. i aways look forward to checking my email just because i love all your stories. i have been checking my email twice as much as i normally do so that i can read up on your latest enteries.i remember going to palenque when i was 8 yrs old. it was astondingly beautiful. i remember going on a wicked trekk with my family to whole bunch of incredable ruins, and the jungle was full of exotic birds and insects as well as many of those orange-racoon like-creatures. so i would truly love to see some pict of some ruin when you take some. the snow is getting deeper here in the koots. Michelle and i went to the hill and hiked all day yesterday. full powdery face shots and deep untouched pow all the way down blast, yeee haaa!!! well i love you Dove and i look forward to your next entery as usual. blessings Taiowa

Thinkin of U
i love the pics, please send more. winter is here and Ular has granted us with loads of powder. i am having a bit of a hard time focusing on school lately with all this wonderful white fairy dust. i have been hiking at the hill every chance i get. what a magical heavenly experience it truely is gliding through endless pow, feelin freer than an eagle. yesterday Ganesh and i hiking up to west ymir with the sun rays guiding our way. we dropped into the open bowl and felt God touch our hearts and our lives in a way that i could never expain. after hours of hiking through the deep snow up to the summit, riding down is like a little dream that is behind you before you have time to blink. and then you are at the bottom looking up at your line, but that tingly butterfly feeling flutters your haert every time you think about that precious moment. well Dove and should be getting back to my studies, but i am really looking forward to hearing from you again as always. Love your friend Taiowa
