Eunice is helping the front gate team
We had a really good day on Friday. The girls have finished painting the main entrance gate. Jerry and Ed set all of the posts and stretched the fence. We are just missing the last connecting rods for the top part of the fence. Pastor went to Ensenada to pick up the materials, but unfortunately the sections were not the right length and his car broke down along the way back. Mario, who works at El Oasis, went into Ensenada in the afternoon to get the right pieces - it's about a 2 hour drive through the desert and winding through the mountains to get to Ensenada. Marilyn Calvin Gloria, Joanna and Eunice have just about finished the office. Calvin re-wired the new addition to the office and the the new paint job looks great. The VBS crew is feeling much better. Day 1 was a bit out of control. There were several older boys (high school age) who were giving them some trouble. But today, one of the boys has been a real help. Jose went somewhere and got a portable PA system and set it before VBS without anybody asking or expressing a need. He knew they were getting

a little frsutrated having to shout over everybody. There are lots of adorable kids who just love getting hugs. We are surviving the heat. It was hotter today. I don't know how hot, but I heard it was 118 in Mexacali. It's not quite that hot but I am guessing it was 105 -110.

You all look GREAT!!!!!!!
Thanks again for the pics and script!!!!!!! Although we couldn't all be there physically with you guys, we are with you in heart and spirit(the pictures help). I hope you all will accomplish all that God has sent you to do. It was good to hear your voices today(Sabbath), unfortunatelly, we had only a frozen picture to view. But it is all GOOD! I know that Gloria and Calvin's grandaughter,Bella, was especially happy to hear Grandma's voice. Pastor Cicle was gone this weekend to do a wedding and church was a little lonely without you all ( especially Angelina and Raquel). Papi sends his love to his daughters. We are all proud of your spirit of service and the giving of yourselves. I know this is the first mission trip for some of you and I eagerly await hearing of your experiences. You are all in our prayers. God Bless!
