Today my friends, Sherry and Jim, took me up to the Ramal al Coro which is a small village of a few "ranches" about 15 miles or so from Mexico Highway 1 --the only paved highway that runs the length of the peninsula. The road up to the Ramal al Coro is actually a pretty well grated two track. It is some of the most beautiful landscape that I have seen--remember that it is a desert! We climbed almost 1800 feet above sea level. The little village of Coro has about 4 ranches that are totally self sufficient and very infrequently visited by "outsiders". It is hard to believe that there are folks that live out in the middle of this vast expanse of land with little electricity, running water, telephones etc. The main means of communication among many of the ranches is via CB radio! Much of the power is supplied by solar panels which I find very impressive.
I cannot put into words the landscapes and vistas......................I hope the pictures speak for themselves.....
Here also are a few pics from our bird bath creations...I made a table since I had already made a birdbath!
Where else can
you play on the beach and make mud baths????? I love it sooooooooooooooo much!
