SASKATCHEWAN - land of big skies

We took the northerly route through Saskatchewan taking us through Saskatoon. We thought we might stop in Saskatoon to visit 'Paris in the Prairies" but after battling with the sprawling subsurbs consisting (so it seemed to us) of an endless industrial estate we decided to leave town.

All of our journey across the prairies had not been boring as we had been warned. We both enjoyed being able to see for miles and miles and everywhere there was something new to look at with little farmsteads, small lakes, the odd tree and bits of wildwife. We saw a couple of dead cyotees on the road too.

Our long run of 330k to Drumheller was not an enjoyable day as the weather was cold and drizzling and even with 'happy glasses" on Sally felt very fed up. (Happy Glasses are the yellow safety glasses that can make the dullest day seem so much better.) The fields were much bigger so not so many interesting little things to look at either.
