Mel on the ferry to Quebec City from Levis The drive to Québec was pretty boring. Along the way, we stopped for a poutine soup (tip: don’t ask for extra gravy and cheese in the province of Québec because they will give you lots!) at a restauraut at Trois Pistoles.
Afterwards, our GPS took us to Levis, where we took a ferry that took us across the St-Laurence river straight to Québec city. It is funny because, it rained during the whole drive, but as soon as we got on the boat, it stopped raining. We were quite lucky for that part!😊 The boat ride was really nice because we had a beautiful view of the famous Château Frontenac and of course, the city of Québec.
First thing in Québec City was to find the tourist office. THANK GOD that Nigel was driving because I would of taking a heart attack! Thankfully, we got there in one piece, but then, we had to find our hostel. The GPS wasn’t working properly because of the high buildings, so it was taking us the wrong way on one way streets! :S So this means, we had to find our way in the city going down NARROW streets even driving on the sidewalks

Our hostel... on a crazy narrow street to get around the parked cars. That was very nerve wrecking! The hostel was pretty nice, cheap and had a free breakfast which we were glad. 😊
Afterwards, we went to eat, of course! 😊 We went to Casse Crêpe Breton and had the best Crêpe (Ham, Swiss cheese and asparagus). That was MMmMM good!
After our lunch, we went to the beautiful Château Frontenac and actually went inside. Then, we walked on the Terrasse Dufferin, which starts at the Château Frontenac, and walked the whole 310 stairs up to the Citadelle. It looked like it was going to rain, so we headed towards the car, which was parked under the City Hall, and as we enter the underground parking, it started to pour. 😊 We got lucky once again! 😊 We grabbed our pillows, sleeping bags and umbrella to bring it to the Hostel and then we headed to an awesome bar that was called the Fou Bar! Eheheh ( I love the name) It was a very relaxed place and we even got the chance to listen to a local Jazz band, which was very cool!😊

Nigel at our cool Hostel we did, is to visit the famous church, Basilique de Notre-Dame, the oldest church of North America (if we remember well), but we only stayed in there for a few minutes. Afterwards, we went on a tour at the Citadelle. Nigel even understood most of it even though it was in French! ☺ We thought it was a very interesting place, it’s even still an operational military base. After, we had some lunch and we decided to head to Montréal a day early.
On our way, we stopped at the Montmorency Falls, which is only 10 minutes for Québec city, and saw this beautiful water falls. They are higher than Niagara Falls, but not as spectacular. This place was defiantly a good stop to make. ☺
