Me and Dana Meeting an old friend
Four years since seeing Dana
I'm super psyched up!
Well, I've made plans to meet up with Dana today and I'll finally be able to meet Eddy. So it's gonna be an exciting day today especially since the weather is nice and sunny. The plan is to check out Old Montréal l and go from there. There is apparently a really huge one with tons of stuff to check out. Whatever we do I'm sure it'll be awesome. On that note, I should lace up my boots and head downstairs where Dana and Eddy will pick me up.
I waited outside in the chilliness for Dana and Eddy who were running a bit late. But I had on my many layers so it was okay. Mind you the cement steps I was sitting on was chilly on the buns. lol
It was so nice to see Dana again. Of course we greeted on another with a huge hug and yapped away. It was nice to finally meet Eddy in person.
Our first stop of the day was to the Old part of Montréal where there are some great old buildings and cobblestone streets.
Me and Dana
Goofing off at the Sewage Treatment Plant. We had an awesome time checking out some galleries and shops and soon enough our stomachs started to growl since we were passing these eateries and could start to smell some good food. We ended up at the 3 Brasseures (or something like that...) and I tried one of their signature flamms which is like a thin crust pizza but without the tomato sauce. I had one with Italian sausage, peppers and cheese. Delish! I think the restaurant used to be an old brewery so you could see the giant vats and stills and pipes everywhere.
We wandered the streets a bit more and started to watch a busker and looked at a couple of jewelry stalls before coming upon a caricature artist. He was only charging $10 and Dana wanted to get one done with Eddy for $20 but as it turned out we had to go back to the car because our meter ran out 30 minutes ago. Whoops! Bummer. It would have been fun. So we headed back towards the car and it seemed like ages that we were walking. I guess since we were in and out of the shops we didn't realize how far
we had walked.
Luckily when we got to the care there wasn't a parking ticket waiting for us. We drove out of Montréal into I think East Montréal. The traffic was terrible but we made it to the town where Eddy grew up and of which I cannot remember the name (I think Charlemagne??) But it is the same place that Celine Dion grew up. Eddy said that he went to the same highschool as Celine but she never talked to him because se was pretty stuck up even back then.
We stopped off at a cool Christmas store. Most of the year it is a pool place but two months before Christmas they go all out and have Christmas decorations galore on sale. There were a few things I'd buy in there but it's not very practical for me to buy at the moment.
We eventually stopped for some ice cream at Dairy Queen and went to go for a walk along the water and unknowingly parked by this fancy building which turned out to be the local sewage treatment plant. lol
Then we went back to Dana and Eddy's house. It's a cute two
level, two bedroom house. Issac, Dana's boxer was super excited when we got home. I guess because he'd been home alone all day. I swear his scrambling around on the laminate floor sounded like he was wearing ice skates. lol I got the mini tour and we ended up chillaxing in the living room for a while.
I don't mind dogs, but on the other hand I'm not all that cuddly with them either. I especially don't like dogs licking my face. Issac's a pretty well behaved dog. He left me a few slobbery "kisses" on my pants and wanted to "lounge" with me on the sofa...I swear I must send off a vibe to dogs or something where they want to sit on my lap...like I'm rejecting them and they just want to be loved. lol
Issac gets pretty excited, pretty easily so it was cute watching him and Eddy play around. He's quite a smart dog and quite the performer of tricks too.
Before I knew it, it was time to head back to downtown Montréal where Dana and Eddy and I said our goodbyes and hugs outside the hostel I was staying at. Issac
came along for a car ride and when we were all outside of the car he looked so sad sitting in the back seat looking out of the window. It was so cute.
Upon arriving back at my room I met one of my roommates, Shonae from Queensland, Australia. We chatted up a storm. She's been in BC for a couple of months and is now travelling around the rest of Canada and may even make it down to NYC. I was encouraging her to go to NYC since I just love it there. It seems like she's in the same boat as me in regards to wanting to find a job in another field. When she gets home she'll be looking for a job but is not sure what it is that she wants to do either. But she also likes dealing with people but not in the sales aspect either. I told her if she finds a job that she should let me know what she ends up doing so as to give me some ideas. lol
