This charming small wildlife park is located about 50 miles (80 km) east of Gatineau/Ottawa on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River. It’s different from typical parks elsewhere for several reasons:

1) There are no exotic animals from abroad.

2) With a few exceptions (e.g. bears, wolves) the animals roam freely.

3) You drive a 12 kilometer circuit among them in your own car, at your own pace.

4) There are safe walking trails and picnic spots: children love them!

5) It is an ideal year-round family trip.

We found the deer and elk in particular to be friendly … interested only in the carrots that you can buy when you enter if you wish. Their faces displayed a wide variety of human-like emotions … curiosity, confusion, authority, vanity, exasperation … indicative of what they might have said if they had been able to speak. We’ve added our own interpretations of these looks, and we hope they give you a chuckle and a deeper appreciation for our fellow animals.
