Beautiful scenery!
It was sooooo amazing! We left Moncton today and headed for the Hopewell Rocks! Google it if you don't know what it is! Basically it's the only place in the world you can walk on the Ocean floor because of the quick tides. As we were walking there...which was about a 15 min hike down the paths Jen and I both had to go to the bathroom. As we approached Jen reminded me of how she hated outhouses..."It will be fine!!" I tried reassuring her. Well Jen walked in two seconds and came out saying "I can't do it!!!" HAHAH What was even funnier was that a cub scout tried using the public outhouse at the Hopewell Rocks and came out gagging and said "That's just wrong!".Lol. His mom said if a cub scout can't handle it than it must be sick smelling!!! Jen and I decided to walk right up to the Atlantic Ocean in the Bay of Fundy which meant getting our feet totally immersed in mud! The smoothest most amazing mud ever! We saw all of the seaweed that is stuck on the rocks and I even took some mud home in a bag to use as a mud mask! The minerals
and nutrients that have to be in it I'm sure are unreal! I for sure thought that Jenn was going to fall into the mud! hahaha I could hear her cursing in the distance! It was smooth except for the first couple feet in which was sharp rocks! Well we came out without any cuts or bruises just the awe of how beautiful the landscape was!!! We ended up taking the shuttle up to the main building and we had to use the 'hose off area' just a bunch of hoses for those that had tonnes of mud on them. We all washed off and headed back to the Kia Soul. On our way to Charlottetown we had to stop by the giant lobster in Shediac New Brunswick, the lobster capitol of the world!!! They built a huge lobster statue by Northumberland Strait which you can climb. I also had to buy a pirates hat and take some fun photos with the pirate statues. We went to Pointe-du-Chene which is a small community located in south east New Brunswick near Shediac. Located on Shediac Bay, an inlet of the Northumberland Strait, Pointe-du-Chene, also called The Point, is the home of
Parlee Beach. At one time it was once the terminus of the European and North American Railway and was a key stopover for Pan-Am's Trans Atlantic air service inaugurated in 1939. Pointe-du-Chene became a cottage resort area in the early 20th century. Summer excursion trains from Moncton brought day trippers to the seashore. The railway terminus and the Pointe's proximity to Parlee Beach (originally known as Gould's Beach and Belliveau's Beach, before being renamed in the 1950s), made it an ideal location for cottage. Lindsay, Jen and I got to go on a fisherman's boat! Lobster catching starts on Tues! lol We met the coolest guys that let us on their boat! I was freaking out! He let me pretend I was stearing and showed how the boat worked! On the dock there were tonnes of lobster traps! You could smell the ocean and the fishy breeze haha. It's strange how comfortable I felt by the ocean and by the lighthouse. I love the east coast...kinda where I feel I belong. So we then left and headed for Leith's mom's camp in Port Elgin. We met Scotia his cat and his mom was soo cute and sweet. Leith wanted to
pick some blueberries and ended up almost getting himself stung by a hornets nest! He was ok lol so we left for Charlottetown! Once we got here we checked into our hotel and then headed for Boston Pizza which is right across the street practically. We ate and then headed back to the hotel. Tomorrow we are going to the the Charlottetown Kia and then checking out Anne of Green Gables Museum!!! That has been a total dream of mine to see PEI and A of GG!!!!
