It was quite an early start as we need to be at CN tower by 11 and it was another lengthy walk to get there, it was not a trip with public transport use it would appear! I must admit that I was quite nervous about doing the edgewalk now that the day had finally come; before that I had watched the videos and though it would be a breeze. I think everyone else was feeling the same way as well. On arrival the people running the edgewalk were great and helped everyone to feel a bit more at ease and nobody failed the breathalyzer test either! The guide who would be leading the walk was also great and he clearly loved his job and after doing it who wouldn't. The view of Toronto and the surrounding area was unbelievable and we had the perfect weather and could even the spray from the Niagara Falls which was 2 hours away. It was also at this point that I realised I would now be hanging off the edge of the building which made my knees go a bit weak. The first task that we had to do was put our toes over
the edge of the rail which was an easy start although I did manage to stumble while doing so. The second task was to lean out backwards which was not actually too bad as I was not looking down to the floor whilst doing this. Jack was unable to do this one. The final task was to lean forwards over the edge which I knew was going to be the most scariest of all three and fair play to everyone else they all did it. Harv made it look like a walk in the park and he clearly in his element. As we were walking around the edge the guide was giving us some background to Toronto and advised on some of the best places to go and see whilst we were there. The whole experience was absolutely amazing and I was so glad that I did this and would recommend to anyone going to Toronto to do this!
At the bottom we were given some photos, a certificate and video of the experience which was all included in the price which made this well worth the $200 paid. There was also a free admission back in
to the CN tower where we could travel to the observation deck to get some photos for ourselves at a later point. After collecting the photos etc we went on a little exploration of Toronto and ended up in the Ballroom sports bar where I had a really good BBQ sandwich in there. However, I did have a moment in there where I got confused about the conversation and thought that shirtless barbers was the topic which gave everyone a good laugh! For the rest of the day we spent the time looking for some more bars and stopped in for drinks along the way.
After having a shower we then headed back out to meet Jake's friend Kyla who took us around some really good bars that she knew. However, the last one that I made it to took almost an hour to get to and was not really worth the walk. By this point I was also very drunk as I had not eaten since lunch time which was a very big mistake and I could not finish the last drink of the round. I had to go back to the hotel with Jake and Kyla at this point while everyone else went to a club. I thought that I would be able to walk back on my own but when in the taxi I reaslised that this was something I probable wasn't capable of doing. I promptly passed out once back at the hotel.
