Another travelling day today from Toronto to Ottawa. Lake Ontario finished and instead of travelling the whole way via highways we went along a road that followed the St Lawerene River. This is the river that has over 1000 tiny islands in it (and is the area that the famous Thousand Island Dressing originated). Beautiful and many of the islands had houses (or holiday homes) on them and were stunning. Would love to see it in winter as apparently the river freezes.
Anyway Ottawa is a very pretty city...beautiful in fact. Yep, could live here...lol (except winter would kill me I think). A tulip festival started today and each city park is beaming with hundreds of tulips - some in full bloom and others about to come out in the next week. Beautiful. Had a walk around this afternoon and having some more free time tonight (ahhh). Lots of beautiful old buildings, a canal runs through the city and it doesn't seem overly hectic.
Cheers.
