NIAGARA FALLS!!! I had never been and finally decided it was about time to go! It takes about 8 hours to get to up to Niagara and it did seem like the longest drive ever but it was worth it. We did have to wait at the border for a good amount of time now that they are checking passports. I found it funny that when we finally made it up the lady in the booth asked us where we were from, where we were staying, and if we had any weapons. Interesting third question, I thought. Once through I was excited! Out of the four of us who went up, I was the only one who had never been there before.
Walking along the strip was so cool. They seemed to have the most random places including several Ripley's Museums and several wax museums. When we made it down to the falls it was really quite beautiful. It was late so the falls were being lit up in yellows, blues and pinks and fireworks were going off as well.
We had one full day to be spent in Niagara and I was pretty excited for it to start.

Whats better? Breakfast was at this awesome diner called the Flying Saucer. It gets its name from the, well Flying Saucer shape the building is in. The food was nothing special, and a bit pricey but it was still cool to dine in a flying saucer.
The first thing we did was head to the Butterfly Conservancy. We bought this package deal called the Adventure Pack which allowed us to do several excursions and I definitely recommend this package deal if it is still available. The Butterfly Conservancy was really quite amazing. There were so many different species flying around and the place was huge! They had an area for rearing the chrysalises and that was pretty neat to be able to see them emerge.
From there we jumped onto the people mover and headed to Behind the Falls. They give you these yellow ponchos which are super stylish and you certainly need them. We really did get to see behind the falls and then walk out beside the falls where you do get soaking wet.
Following that came the Maid of the Mist tour. On this tour we got even cooler blue ponchos to wear, and our group
got the prime standing section right at the front of the boat. You really get to check out both the American falls and the Canadian falls. What I found most interesting was the cormorants that were so close to the falls.
We again jumped on the people mover and headed to the white water walk. There was no wait at all so we just headed down and walked along a boardwalk. The rapids were absolutely huge and labeled as class 6. I couldn't imagine that people had actually traversed down these rapids.
After a day long spent along the falls we headed into the strip. We ate dinner at the rainforest cafe (we went from space to the rainforest) which is expensive and not all that good, but its still cool to eat in. AFter that we went to the Wax Museum of the Criminals. It was so awesome. I have an odd obsession with criminals so to see them as wax figures it was kind of cool. There was Jack the Ripper, Bugsy, Lizzie Borden and SO many more.
