Two hours of biking
Tour round the island and saw
Anne of Green Gables!

We started out about an hour behind schedule since there were quite a few people with hangovers. Or rather they were still feeling a bit drunk considering they had just stopped drinking about four hours earlier. lol

We ended up having a sit down breakfast at a nice little place in Cavendish instead of grabbing a bit to eat at the Tim Horton's. It’s always nice to be able to have a leisurely breakfast instead of rushing around all the time.

From breakfast we headed across the street to the local Petro Canada station where our rental bikes were waiting for us. Can you believe that we were only charged $6 for 2 hours! Awesome!

We rode along the Cavendish Trail which I'm guessing is only about 10km or something like that and it was just awesome. Six dollars for a couple hours of fun, you definitely can't beat that! If there were biking trails near my home in Vancouver that you didn't have to drive through or bike through crazy traffic, I'd definitely look into purchasing a bike. But that's not gonna happen any time soon. lol

From biking we made a little stop to the beach and then to Anne's House and then for some groceries and a lunch stop. Most people were not interested in seeing Anne's House but I figured I had come all the way to PEI that if I didn't go to the Anne of Green Gables House that I would regret it forever! So Amelia and I did the touristy Anne tour. Awesome. Now I can't wait to re-read the book by Lucy Maud Montgomery. 😊 Hmm, I wonder if I still a copy of it back home.

Basically the only other big thing for us to see was to the Confederation Bridge linking PEI with New Brunswick. It's only about a 10 minute drive over the S-shaped Bridge that is less than 13km long. It would be cool to ride a bike or walk over the bridge but it is vehicular traffic only bridge now and absolutely no STOPPING! Man, that would not be nice to get stuck in the middle of that bridge!

On the New Brunswick side we had a short stop to use the facilities, check out the information

centre and take some pictures of the bridge before heading back to Halifax. We probably didn't make it into Halifax until about 7:30 where I was pretty pooped, hot and in need of a shower to feel better. After showering and having a bite to eat I pretty much had a quiet night in since there are still two days of touring Nova Scotia ahead of me. 😊
