Wednesday May 27th - Off to Gander

Now we are having trouble getting the correct date to record, so everything is going to come up June 2nd, 2015. The joy of computers.

We awake in the Leaside Manor B & B to the delicious smell of bacon and coffee. Ah, food. I devour my breakfast, and leave not a crumb on my plate. Then the five hour lonely journey starts towards Gander. There is a mist of rain, and a terrain of short trees and rocky hillsides. While entering a restaurant, a gigantic U.S. C-5 Galaxy plane is landing, returning from Iraq and stopping in order to refuel on the way back to an airforce base in the US. Without this base and airport, I am not sure Gander would be here but apparently NAV Canada is a huge employer. They control most of the flights over the Atlantic. Reminds us a lot of Northern Alberta but there is an ocean here!
