PILOTAGE: I race against a low tide to and from our crab pot, opting to take the short cut between islands, only being rewarded with good exercise for my efforts, no crab except small ones. It seems like the good eatin’ crabs have been fished out everywhere up here. We are hopeful for our deeper prawn trap, heading straight for it after hauling anchor and did manage to pull in enough to make our pasta lunch more satisfying.

We fished a lot of points along the way, timing rapids perfectly (of course says the Captain) but we don’t seem to have the lucky bucktail lure this year and we pull into Lagoon Cove, salmonless. We don't seem to have the patience to fish.

It’s exactly happy hour when we arrive, and while Lagoon Cove Marina is famous for it’s shrimp, the lure of the sleepy cove ahead and a quiet anchorage pulls us past the docks.
