DAWSON CREEK
After travelling 1337 Km we have now arrived at Mile “0” – the beginning of the Alaska Highway. Here we will meet up with the rest of our Good Sam Caraventure Group and get well oriented for the 43 day trip ahead!! People in our group come from many states and provinces, some from as far away as Florida, Indiana, Arizona, California, Ontario etc. All are retired and travelling in various size rigs. We will be traveling in smaller groups of three or four rather than a long caravan of 23 rigs, and we have been warned that if we let more than four or five vehicles line up behind us we will be ticketed by whatever local authority sees us. From Dawson Creek we will only have spotty internet access so you may not hear from us for several days in a row at times. When you open this blog and double click on one of the pictures, it will enlarge and show you all the pictures we have posted in a numerical sequence. Hope you enjoy them. We have signed up for the Caraventure’s photo scavenger hunt to try to collect photos of certain subjects, such as Dwain kissing a moose!! . Anyone know where we can find a nice, quiet stuffed moose? Apparently there are many other fun activities planned for us. Tomorrow night we will all be bused in to Dawson Creek to have pictures taken at the Mile “O” sign and then to a nice Restaurant for dinner. Thursday morning we all head out for Ft. Nelson – one of the longer days on the road.
