So... what to say? We've arrived in Vancouver Airport, made our way to our terminal and now are just waiting for our next flight to depart. These are the last moments we will have in Canada for close to nine months, and being that we (Jord, especially) have never had such an extended length of time away, we are overly anxious to set out. The next flight, to Shanghai, has a duration of 12 hours. Then onwards to Sydney on another flight, the length of which is 11 hours. All in all, we're going to spend just about an entire day encapsulated in a metal tube. A fact that Kris holds in contempt as she has some trouble with claustorphobia and anxiety in planes. But, the end is very much worth the means. Particularly because the end is Sydney, home of the most beautiful, natural harbor in the world. We are not even able to begin describing our excitement. 😊

On our flight here from Calgary, we struck up a conversation with a very pleasant Pakistani lady in the seat next to ours. We found that she was travelling with her husband and two friends and that, she was taking the same flight from Vancouver to Shanghai as we were. After we used them as a guide to our terminal. Which was an appreciated aide, given the size of this place. Hopefully we are seated close by to them again, as we wouldn't mind a semi-familiar face.

But, our flights are soon lifting off, so we will end our first post.

We'll be updating this regularly, so we'll see you next time.
