Good evening all! Writing this blog update from a hostel in Vancouver! So heres the details of what I've been up to since San Fran!

August 24th - Redwoods National Park - Woke up today with a slightly groggy head after our nightout in San Fran! A few notes on this night - 1. American pool has some bizarre rules! 2. San Fran locals are the coolest and most generous people I have ever met. 3. Why do British travellers always seem to end up in the same place on a nightout?! We found a great bar called "R Bar" where I moshed my way to the early hours with bands like Bloc Party, The Killers and Hot Hot Heat playing - happy days! 😊 Anyway Redwoods NP was our destination today and it was a long long drive and by the time we got there all I wanted to do was sleep so sleep I did!

August 25th - Albany, Oregon - Up early here to do a few shorts hikes around Redwoods - we found a very beautiful and secluded beach called "Hidden Beach" - the mist was still hanging over and added a certain solitude to the place - like you were on a different planet!! I also got to see some of the biggest trees in the world - some dating back over 2000 years! We continued to drive along the coast with the sea continually on our left. On route we also had the pleasure of getting the van washed by a cheerleading team - needless to say us guys were loving it! We didnt arrive at the campsite again till late so yet again it was another full day of driving!

August 26th - Seattle. We arrived in Seattle and checked out the public market, the first ever starbucks and the waterfront. The city seemed like a bustling and alternative kind of place with a big impotus on the music scene ( a lot of grunge!). The theatre next to our hotel had Megadeth playing in about a week or so's time to emphasise this point! We had some dinner in a spot outside that overlooked the whole city and then headed down to Pioneer square where we ended up in a bar with live bands. All in all was a great scene and will definitely be returning to this place!

August 27th & 28th - Vancouver.. Today we ventured across the border and into Canada - yay! Have I mentioned that immigration officers are the friendliest people in the world?! lol. It was a nightmare!!! We did a city tour when we got to Vancouver then checked into our first hostel of the journey - very very lively place! Me and Nick shared with 2 French guys who were the most arrogant people ever- when we said hello all we got back was a grunt! Met up with Asako this evening too (one of the girls who was on the southern trek with us and lives here!) and went for a Mongolian BBQ - I would highly reccomend this to anyone! We then checked out some bars and then a few of us stayed on till the very early hours and got extremely drunk! It is a very lively place and certainly didnt seem like a Monday night.. However I've noticed an increase in the prices and it was a cheap night with one of my rounds coming to 50 bucks! ugggh! And as for today - well what can I say - its been emotional! A very bad hangover! I did get myself down to the 1000 acre Stanley Park though where I played some ultimate frisbee and cricket (with a frisbee and stress ball - we musta looked silly but it was fun!).. And now its now and I am writing this and then going to get a nap before hitting the bars again! 😊 SO yeah just 2 1/2 weeks or so left now - man I cant believe how time flies!! So i'll be seeing you all soon you unlucky lot 😊 !! haha
