11 Days on the Road - 11 Tage auf der Strasse

We spent the last five days enjoying Wells and Barkerville. We went canoeing on the Bowron Lakes. You can do a 5 day canoeing treck around 10 different lakes in the area. We'll save that for another day ;-) We attended the 3 day folk music and art festival. I bought a colourful hat to try to fit in with the cool young people. Not sure it helped though. So many great bands including OQO (Devon's new boy plays accordion in this band.) I've included a pic below. I felt like a groupie introducing myself to him. And no Devon....I didn't say anything stupid ;-) (He's a cutie). Tomorrow we are heading to Prince George to fill up on groceries and pick up my new lense, then we're headed to grizzly country. The salmon are beginning to run so we hope to get the once in a life time experience of watching Grizzly bears catch fish. Based on Raissa's (Martin's daughter) recommendation we now have bear spray. She didn't think the knives would do us much good if the grizzly is that close.... good advice Raissa.

..und noch etwas in deutsch .. tja - unterwegs fühlen wir uns meistens richtig wohl..auch trotz mancher Einschränkungen im Alltag auf reisen im Wohnmobil.

Kanada überrascht immer wieder mit riesigen Panoramaausblicken über Wälder Flusstäler und Bergen..

Bisher sahen wir einige Adler und Rehe und sind schon gespannt auf den ersten Bären beim Fischen oder vielleicht einen Elch der gerade aus einem Gebüsch spaziert.. und fischen gehen..Bev besorgte eine Angel zum Lachsfischen..

Wie Bev oben schon erzählt,sind wir aktuell in Barkerville einem Museumsstädtchen im Goldrauschstil vergangener Zeiten..und die letzten Tage besuchten wir ein Musikfestival in Wells gleich nebenan..so viele junge und alte Hippies..genau mein Geschmack..
