Lake Louise
Ben's found his perfect partner. Welcome to LL 'Ladies and Gentlemen, we will be landing in Calgary in 10 minutes. The current time in our destination is 7 o'clock, it is a clear night and a cool -23.....wow! After passing out early in the evening we both woke up in the wee early hours of the morning stomachs rumbling. After waiting until 06.00 we decided we would spoil ourselves and order room service. 'We'll have four pancakes, fruit and two orange juice please' - a knock at the door soon after and we are confronted with what appears to be the rounds for our whole floor. 'wow it looks like everyone wants the same order as us this morning' - after she unloads four plates of four high, large pancakes, four plates of fruit, four maple syrup cups, four cream cups, two glasses of orange juice and a bill for $60 we realise something must have been lost in translation along the way. Oh well first slip up. Good pancakes though.
After a military search procedure prior boarding the Greyhound (ooo I like a good stroke down in the morning) we headed off for Lake Louise. Lake Louise is the most beautiful resort I have ever been to,

View from our balcony - first night all wooden log cabins, awe inspiring views, rivers and extravagant Christmas decorations. The mountain itself is fantastic and the largest in Canada, could have benefited from some fresh dumps (that happened on the day we left - sods law). LL is more of an expensive hamlet than a resort, but the hotel more than made up for it. Had so many hot tubs that I started getting horrid dry patches all over so gave that luxury up. LL was a great place to break ourselves in for the week, great terrain, extreme conditions and practically had the place to ourselves. We went up to the hill one day and it was -38, only one lift was open. Ben's goggles froze up so he had to ride with them up; consequently his face froze up. We had some glorious blue sky days and made good friends with the backside of the mountain. Had some major falls which knocked my confidence some what; Ben is a great teacher though and encouraged me helping to get back on it and take the bull by the horns. We learnt a valuable lesson at LL 'the red rope is there for a reason so don't

Ben setting up in front of our lovely fire cross it' ended up on a black diamond which due to the harsh winds and -38 conditions was a wall of ice and consequently a wall of pain...we've learnt our lesson.
Spent our last day at the Lake which was stunning. Walked over the 'thin ice' and took a walk around the perimeter, ending the day in the Fairmont hotel with a warm cider each.
After a 12hr Greyhound journey we are now in Fernie....

Hello kinders!! Looks and sounds awesome. Glad your there safe. We have had snow today in Bristol though nothing to compare to the views your seeing :) Went to the Piddle on Sat night for Si's birthday, drank too much Rattler and me, rach and rach's mate took Mr Vickery down outside as he wanted a fight, this resulted in him being pinned to the ground with his belly being patted until red raw!! - you would be proud Sadie - watch out Ben were in training!! Did the clay pigeon shooting yesterday and you were both missed!! Anyhow enjoy every minute and keep us updated! Big love to you both!! Boombox xxx
