Flip a coin.
If its heads I'll jump a flight to LAX and get my butt home in time for GF day...
Tails says I stick around to see a little snow, skiing, and the Flames go at it...
Not sure what to do. I have had a fantastic time and it seems a shame to 'cut and run' when there is still so much to see and do. But at the same time finding a job I would actually enjoy & that I'm qualified for is proving elusive.
Spent an enjoyable morning with the folks at Canadian Immigration today, the conclusion reached is that I would be more than welcome to teach here in around 4 months after medicals, police checks and paper work have been approved. Yeah, cheers guys. Basically I can't work in any position involving children (ie gyms, swimming teacher) unless I want a ride in the police car to the airport! Ruling out about 5 places I have applied for jobs at...
Anyway, nice to hear from some of you guys, thanks for the emails and txt msgs. I believe "its f@#$%!(BADWIDTH)%!n(MISSING)g
pissing down Mr Pooley" had a birthday recently and some other chick named Stucas! Did I miss anyone? if so sorry, but anyone who really knows me realises that I struggle to remember my own Birthday...
I'm heading into the BC wilderness next week for a camping trip with some of the guys, just a little ways past Kelowna, for the labour day long weekend. Out for a Sushi tonight, budget restraints have kept me a little quiet as late, but tonight we're splashing out with the last of my coaching funds (all $12.50 of it!)
Just a few cricket games left in the season, we are well placed to finish 3rd and qualify for next years 'super league' comp (top 3 Calgary & Edmonton teams play a round robin). Finally got the average around 15. Outstanding. Our U23 team got up for a win in the last big game of the season against Edmonton, gave them a geunine old fashioned spanking in a 2 dayer. This is after we knocked off some cocky pommy team visiting from Birmingham or someplace last thursday. Yours truly made 23 from 16, AND when bowling got hit aboot 70 metres, over
a
very high fence, and into the swimming pool next to the ground (damn slower ball - yes Mitch, i know they're all slow balls...)
Matty my favourite Kiwi housemate is finishing up work soon, and looks set to return home. So I figure if we're gonna go, we may well have to go out in style. Thats right, we are talking up a little trip across the US border to Whitefish Montana, and, as the name suggests, it is trailer-park-hicks-ville-white-trash-country-livin-heaven! Could be interesting...
Pictures for this entry are of a little night out at Molley Malones that got a bit big on us (hence the bad 80's sports clothing & carrying on). It was after cricket one evening and ended up with some drunk louts playing on the swings in the park at aboot 2am.... The other shots are from a birthday BBQ for Daniyalla at Giavanna's home. The tshirts were a hit with the kids!
Anyway, by not deciding I'm pretty much deciding, so might have to flip a coin before Friday... Will keep in touch 😊
