That is quite a top on the grandstand and we were right up there by it. And lool at those teeny weeny people way down there in the arena
I had planned on having a layover day before we went to the Stampede but I really really really knew that Mont would be fretting knowing he was so close and yet not seeing what was going on. So I gave in to his hangdog look and we went in to the Grounds. It was about 25 miles to the Ctrain station --that is Calgary's electric train system but all the parking spots were full . Of course, this was a working day for the non tourists. So I used my trusty map to find the next station, parked in a supermarket lot and hopped on the train like we knew what we were doing. I take that back. Anybody watching would have seen us trying to figure out the loonies and twonies and the change to get the tickets but there always seemed to be friendly Calgarians around. And we visited with folks all the way to the grounds.
We got last minute tickets to the 1:30PM rodeo We were on the 7th level which was waaaaaaY up there. Our seats were out in the sun but I noticed two that were unoccupied in the shade so moved it on

Don't worry--even though the chutes are wayyyyyyy down there we had big screen TV to watch with instant replay too. Just like being at home but a lot more expensive.
