You are likely in the process of getting your documents attested so that you can live and work in Dubai, but what about your family? Can they legally come with you? How long can they stay? We hope to answer all your questions about how you can bring your spouse, relatives, and/or children with you to stay in Dubai.
There are two ways for your family to stay in UAE:
Entry permits and residence visas. The entry permit is necessary to legally step foot inside the country and stay for no more than 60 days. If you plan to keep your family for longer, you will need to also apply to get residence visas for them.
Entry Permit : When you
get degree certificate attestation , there are actually a few different ways that you can sponsor your family members. The first is with an entry permit. If you have been hired by a company located in UAE and want your family to come live with you, you can sponsor them to obtain an entry permit.
Entry permits are documents issued by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) that enables foreigners to legally stay in UAE for a period of time. Besides family, entry permits can also be issued for employees, tourists, members of the press, and patients who need a specific procedure undertaken in the country. These permits last for two months before the sponsored people need to leave. Entry permits cannot be renewed.
In order to obtain an entry permit for your spouse and children, you will need to provide the following:
●A 250 AED fee for each applicant; 350 AED fee for urgent applicants.
●A filled-out application for an entry permit.
●A passport of each person to be sponsored.
●A photo used for the passport of each person to be sponsored.
●Your bank statements for the past 90 days.
●A copy of your most recent utility bill.
●A copy of your rental contract.
●A copy of your employment contract that proves that you earn at least 4000 AED per month. Educational workers, such as teachers and bus drivers, are exempt from this credential.
For spouse:
●Your original marriage certificates.
●An Arabic-translated version of your marriage certificate.
For each child:
●The original birth certificates.
●A copy of birth certificate.
For daughters over the age of 18:
●A verified document that declares them unmarried.
Upon receiving your entry permit(s), you can give the original copy to your spouse or keep the copy and turn in the original at the immigration office at the airport where you first enter the country.
Resident Visa Residence visas are visas issued to foreigners who are already living in UAE temporarily via entry permits. These applications must be completed within the two months that your family is staying in the UAE. Residence visas last for three years and can be renewed, unlike entry permits.
You will need almost all the credentials necessary to apply for entry permits in order to obtain residence visas. You will additionally need to provide the following:
●A 370 AED fee for each applicant; 470 AED fee for urgent applicants.
●A filled-out application for each residence visa that is to be signed by you.
●An original or copy of each of your family’s entry permits.
●An original or copy of your own residence visa.
●Your original Emirates ID card.
●A copy of your Emirates ID card.
●Participation of a medical test for each family member over the age of 18 and they must pass it.
●A medical fitness certificate for all family members over the age of 15.
●Proof of insurance for all family members.
Upon providing everything listed above, you will obtain residence visas for each family member whom you are sponsoring, and they will not be required to leave the country after their entry permits have expired.
You may be wondering what would happen if you or your spouse gives birth in the UAE. Any new babies from foreign families would also need a residence visa, and the timeframe to get one is four months. You will be fined 100 AED for each day past the four months that your baby doesn’t have this visa. Additionally, the baby cannot leave the country until the visa is obtained.
You will additionally need to provide the following for a residence visa for a newborn:
●A 215 AED fee.
●A filled-out application.
●The baby’s passport.
●A photo used for the passport of the baby.
●A copy of your passport.
●A copy of your employment contract.
●The baby’s birth certificate.
●A copy of the baby’s birth certificate.
●Your original marriage certificates
●An Arabic-translated version of your marriage certificate.
The process of having your family sponsored is straightforward. We encourage all families to gather their credentials in advance before they go on their trip to Dubai.
