Istanbul kebab shop
Istanbul kebab shop Arrived early morning and the weather didn't disappoint - Hot.
Check the local kebab shop; imagine the size of these when Ramadaan has finished. Not sure if this going to work as I'm dealing with a Greek computor and alphabet.
Had a little trouble finding our hotel among the maze of narrow cobbled streets in Sultanamet; a little remininsent of Stone Town in Zanzibar.
The Metro system to/from the airport works well when working; you see it wasn't working the next day when we were relying on it to get us back to the airport for an early flight on to the Ukraine. I suspect the overnight electrical storm might have had sometihing to do with it but we didn't find out until after dragging our bags along the cobbled streets in the early hours of the morning (Sunday). We thought we would have been disturbing the local natives only to find half the town still up after the the previous night's prayer sessions.
