The deportation of the Armenians was very sudden and the Armenians had little time to get ready for deportation. The Turks could pretty much do anything the wanted to the Armenians and ruled over them. The turks treated the Armenians very cruel, in one case a Turk took a pregnant Armenian woman, ripped her dressed, sliced the stomach in half, pulled the baby out, and chopped its head off when it started to cry. Most of the extermination methods were barbaric and inhumane, for example sick and half dead prisoners would be burned alive. The Armenian genocide and the Holocaust had many similarities. Both of these ethnicities were very wealthy and controlled most of the money in the country, also both were executed based on ethnicity. Similar in both genocides was that most of the survivors had to hide, run away, or find a way around the system. If the people were to follow the Turk's directions they were sure to die.
