Laura's place in London
Hey guys,

Brendan and i loved Bulgaria. We went to Sofia (a old style town with heaps of statues), valienko tarnovo and plodiv for a day. It was all great, the food was cheap, tasty and the meals were massive, the beer was cheap (2 litre bottles from the super makret for 2 bucks), the people we so helpful (well the ones that could speak english). The only down fall was that is was a little cold, especially after coming staright for egypt. The train ride from athens to sofia was so LONG, it was meant to take 12 hours which was long enough and in the end it took 16 and a half. Terrible!!
Then from here we caught a bus from plovdiv overnight to istanbul. Again on this trip brendan said he was going to clock sim city, which over the past 6 weeks he has become slightly obsessed with, each long train trip or bus ride he thinks he will clock it and he never does. The other day we were on a 5 hour bus ride and he came off the bus with 20000 less people than he started with so he didn't even bother saving

it, what a waste hahah!! Anyway once we got to instanbul we made our way to the hostel.
That night had a few beers with blacky and big nic ( big nic we were very surprised to see, no one had heard from him for 3 weeks and with all the volcano stuff we weren't sure he woudl make it, turned out fine and all went to plan for him and he had an amzing but blurry trip on contiki). The Anzac service was great, sleeping outside was an experience and we had a great position for the service, right infront. All night they showed doco's and movies so the time went quite quick. After the ceremony in the morning we went to all the major sites, i was so glad that i read up on it because it all made so much more sense. The trenches we insane, the turks and anzac trenches were only like 5 metres apart in some parts. Brendan and i ran through the trenches, hold on let me re-phase that, i made brendan run through the trenches as if we were soldiers. 😊 he bailed early so i though i would pop out of

what he does best
the trenches and scare him but my sleeping bag got caught and i hit the deck hard, in front of alot of people. He manage to get a good photo of it. My attack didn't work out so well.
Once back in Istanbul we had another big night with the crew, i really paid for it the next day with a terrible hangover, i am blaming it on the cheap vodka, never again.
Istanbul was a great city, the blus mosque was incredible inside. We went to the grand bazaar as well and bargained out little bums off but i still think we got ripped off. Good times. The under ground pools were also cool. This day brendan also got a hair cut, he was a little worried going in because of the language barrier but it turned out to be the best service of the trip. He didn't just clipper his hair, he got his balde out and trimmed the side burns and neck, then he gave it a wash with head and shoulders which he advised boy to use, then he washed out his ears and put on some moisteriser and also some nourishing cream for his hair.

old town in Plovdiv (Bulgaria)
Hilarious, he got a well earned tip!!
We spent one night in London which was great, caught up with my nepal mates and also the kiwi's we met on the egypt, so good to see them all.
We arrived in Leeds on friday with a very nice welcome. Really friendly people up this way and the house is great.
We will do a blog of Leeds and stuff next time.

Hoep everyone is well....xoxoxo

PS: The flight from Istanbul to London brendan managed to clock sim city but for him to finish it he had to set the rocket off which ment he had to do a count down out loud on the plain, he failed it, so now he has to wait for another year to click over to have another chance, hilarious and highly embarressing.
