A quick visit to Istanbul...we stayed on the European side - Sultanahmet, as it had the Blue Mosque and Santa Sophia....apparently, all the best bars are on the Asian side, plus most of the affordable art, so that's for next time! No stairs - to get up to the higher level,there are a series of tightly-wound ramps - very atmospheric!

There must have been over a million lanterns for sale in Istanbul - on virtually every stret and all over the Grand Bazaar - just hundreds of shops selling only one thing....
