Mosque in the day
The Blue Mosque during the day....not blue at all. It's ok ge...quite big. The inside is a little different from the Mosques in Morocco ne..! Istanbul is everything I expected and also everything unexpected!
The openess and modernity and the size of the city amazes me!!!
The hassles and the people are more funny than freaky.. haaaa!!
So arrived at around 2130 at this very very very very big bus station. Took the bus 20 mins to drive to the parking spot! Found the metro easily and found HSBC bank machine as well! haaa.. Hop on the metro to get to the city centre. had to change the tram but from the metro... didn't find any trams. So, saw this guy with a back pack and decided to just follow him... .and it worked! haaaaa..found the tram and after getting lost in the old town for about 30 mins, finally...found the hostel!..phew. Thoug h, as i walked through the city..it was nice!! Many people around.. the vibe was so goooooood!
back to the hostel..
Again, my name was not on the booking list, but thank god they got me a bed.
I was so ill.. with backaches and headaches.
maybe its from slacking too much in Bulgaria.....
pass the night.
Next morning, had the breakfast from the hostel...very vegi.. haaaa...but nice.
Turkish tea is
the Runaway from the hassle.
Aya Sofia..the upstairs gallery...where we stood to wait for the 2 guys to be out of sight......0__0" delicious!!! So when I was about to go out...
The guy at the hostel invited me a 2nd breakfast with the staff...and they had some different fooood!....very very nice....
Went out to see the mosque and met this other Hong Kong traveller! Then we decided to travel together for the day! haaaa.. .so nice!
We went to the Blue Mosque.... the mosque in Morocco were nicer I think...
Then went to Aya Sofia... .this cathedral, that got converted into a mosque. and now a museum. Very interesting place.
On our way to these places, we got some hassles, and 2 of these guys who tried to talk to us, we ignored them and guess what? They followed us!!!!!!
We were so freaked out! So we were like " let's pay 10 TYL to get into AyaSofia, I bet t they won' t pay to hassle people... "
We went in and OMG. ..they followed us in!!!!!....hak sei,
They followed us all the way and we keep walking in circles to get them away....
Finally they tried to talk to us again and we ignor again....and went out of the museum.. phew. they were finally gone!..^^"
Then we went
Aya Sofia
this little part before the exit....looks nice ne to look for this restaurant to have lunch, these two guys came, saw our map and said they will take us there coz they are eating there as well.
err......we delayed our lunch for only about 10 mins...and when we got there...the guys weren't there...Phew.....^__^ We had some nice kabab and... turkish fast food kinda thing.....ok le.
Then we went to the Grand bazzar...errr...ok la..some nice stuff.... but I was starting to feel a headache at that time and thought I had a fever so didn't bother looking and barganing.. The place was HUGE...but annoying people as well.
As we walked though, people always try to guess what nationality we are.
Most people guess Korean and Japanese. .coz they are EVERYWHERE....
but the funniest ones are "Italiano???" and "Bonjour!" haaaaa!!!
How happy we were when they said that!!!! Then we walked to this other street and we start getting "malaysian?" or "Philippines"? >__<"
Anyways, got out and walked to the spice market.
on the way stopped by this desert place and YUMMMMMMM! I tried this milk-rice pudding thing....SO GOOOOOOOOOD! a little bit remind me of Chinese deserts. .AHHHH...... now I am so craving for it!!!!=P
The spice
Mosque at night
The Blue Mosque at night. Though, its more a Green mosque than blue to me...haaa! They had music playing for a while and a light show of some kind....interesting and crowded ne! market was smaller but nicer than the grand bazzar! Lots of spice, turkish delight and teas! not bad ne! Apple tea tastes SO GOOOOOOD!=)
Back to the hostel afterwards to rest..then we set off to see the night lights and hamam..the turkish bath.
Stopped by to shop....=P
Got some hassles again when we were looking for the hamam.. and I was pissed and I yelled back "jau hoi la!"..and wow!,,it worked! haaaa, anyways
The bath was more expensive than I thought....but well... must try it anyways.
Its a little different than what I expected...
No big tub of hot water....
instead...heated marble table...u lie down and someone gives you a scrub and massage... very comfortable ne!! if only it was longer... .that would be great! haa..
Then got a face mask and face massage.....very oily lor....but interesting...
my face was boiling afterward......-__-"
So relaxing and clean though!...loved it!
hea hea hea till bedtime.
*Hassle of the day!!!! - We were on our way back to the hostel, walked by this food stand, but stopped actually just coz we were chatting...suddenly the guy at the foodstand says:
"Hello, may I help you? Do you want something? For
Mosque from the inside
Had to cover up legs and shoulders to get in...walls..but the lights hung too low...so there were many lines affecting the view of them..... example, my heart?"*
WAHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! can't believe someone can have such thick face to say it out loud!!! laugh die me and Jess!!! haaaa!
