When we went walking around the town of Goreme, we were intrigued to see the variety of cave houses, many of them amalgams of both human and fairy work. One young Turkish tourist volunteered to try his hand at an old-fashioned potters wheel, after the ceramics master had given the tour group a demonstration.

Their work was so fine and detailed, they would stop to rest their eyes.

This castle is on the highest point in Cappadocia. Climbing to the top of it had been removed from the tour because some tourists had died of heart attacks doing the climb. I was glad for the reprieve!

This picture didn't make it through on the last blog, but I wanted you to see the addition to our cave hotel room, so here it is. I loved the tapestry on the walls.

Beautiful Ceramics
This all looks so interesting and the ceramics are so beautiful. It reminds me of when we were in a similar factory in Vietnam where I very nearly bought some beautiful pots etc. Needless to say Kev talked me out of it - what is it with these men!! M xx
