Alice Muggerditchian was a survivor from the Armenian Genocide in 1915. In her interview, she talked about how the Turkish government said after all the men had been taken, that if the Armenian women brought all the guns that they had, then they would release the men from prison. The women did bring the guns ,and the ones who didn't have any guns bought guns and turned them in. Once the Turkish government collected all the guns, then they claimed that the Armenians were trying to revolt against them. The men were never returned to their families; however, they were butchered and killed. Then the soldiers started killing off the women. I thought that Alice's story was really sad because these women gave up the only protection they had in order to save their husbands who were never returned to them. I think that if these women had never given up the guns, then there may have been a revolution that could have saved many Armenians.
