New years day, wow what a weird way to spend it. We drove to Homs and after wandering through the old city souqs (markets) we headed out towards the Crusader Castle called Crac Des Chevaliers ( I recon it sounded better when I called it Crack De Shack). After all of the piles of fallen old rocks we have seen this castle lifted the spirits and stood proud. It was massive and in a great state of preservation, our camp site was right next to it thus we had a great view. The only problem was it was blowing a gale and raining! Thus we had dinner in the restaurant and headed to bed.
