I went to the Dead Sea today. It was really incredible. When I went in the water it was like floating in a big bubble because all the salt keeps you afloat. I got a lot of the salt water in my mouth. The taste was really bad. At the edge of the Dead Sea there were some really lovely rocks that looked like amber. They smelled bad though, because of all the salt. I really miss all of you guys and really want to Skype you soon!

You can't sink in the dead sea becasue of the high salt content.

We drove to the southern most part of the dead sea. It is called the salty lake in Hebrew and the stinky sea in Arabic!

Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us. I am delighted to see you and all the unusual scenery. Your blog posts are wonderful. The Dead Sea has always fascinated me. Many travel there for medicinal reasons. What a unique experience to have bathed in the Dead Sea! Look forward to continuing to vicariously travel with you through your blog! Be well. (: Mrs Jacobs

WoW, Abby! It is wonderful to see your smiling face floating in the Dead Sea:-) We are all missing you and excited about your travels. We've been busy writing poetry here at school. I wonder what kind of poem you could write about your travels in Israel? Give it a try! I'll read your newest entries to the class tomorrow at morning meeting and we'll send you a few comments. Let us know when you're ready to Skype! xo Mrs.Morrison
