Mashhad Martyr

Saw lots of public murals depicting martyrs all over Iran, mostly from the Iran-Iraq war of 1980 - 1988

It was common in most of the cities we were in to see murals on buildings. This one is a Koran scene, but more commonly they had faces of martyrs and prayers for them.

Drive North Persepolis to Esfahan

250 miles; 5 hours. The countryside was almost all like this with a scattering of towns and villages. The roads were very good - pavement, signage, width
