Ah the beautiful Venice. The canals and sinking colourful houses certainly do have a kind of magic to them.

The night we arrived Cam and I went straight to Venice, as our campsite is 4km out from the city. They have a really good shuttle bus though. We were sitting on the steps of an old library when the hawkers trying to sell roses came past. Offering them to Cam, he questioned "No...why?" and I said "Because I'm not worth it" in a sarcastic tone. The italian guy didnt understand but it turned out these Aussies from Perth behind us did and laughed. So we ended up spending the night with them until we had to catch our bus back. It was great they were really interesting people and raved about Perth!

The next day I saw the Bascilica and this massive picture made entirely from metal and jewels, the church has too much money! I wandered for hours through the little streets, looking at masks, venetian glass and gelati! Very pretty but not actually a place you need a long time in.
