Plane tickets purchased off onetravel.com for $840 each round-trip, Sacramento to Heathrow London, new bank account opened, awesome Jansport Big Bear backpacks (78 and 82 Liters) purchased for $75 each off eBags.com (half price!), and 1st night booked at the Adare Hotel near the Paddington trainstation for $120. This will be one of hopefully only 2 hotels booked during our 1-month backpacking trip, the rest will be hostels. Our plane leaves SMF at 10:44am the 16th and after a transfer in San Francisco, we will arrive the at 7:40am the next day, which is 11:40pm on the 16th our time so, no sleep! Kinda weird. This is the main reason for getting a hotel booked so we can get some nice solid sleep after staying up for 24 hours to try our best to reset our internal clocks. We'll see how that goes. Really not looking forward to 10 hours on a plane but, we chose Continental since they have satllite TV in the headrests to hopefully keep me from having a freakout on the plane! Still really not sinking in that this is about to finally happen for us. I'll start posting as soon as we get there and to our friends and families, we will miss you!
