Another fantastico day in Venice. Sun shining with temps in the 30's crisp and clear. Today we visited the Jewish Getho, a tribute to the Venicans sent to concentration camps during the Holocost. In Venice there are so much diversity, that many be one reason why it is such an amazing city.

As we walked around the city we made our way to the world famous Rialto bridge. On to utter chaos at the Rialto fish market. We stumbled across a curious line in the middle of the square which we discovered was serving white wine and fresh seafood plates; shrimp, calamari, fish right off the boat into the fryer where the rotund proprietor was screaming in Italian to his kitchen staff to speed up delivery as he kept running out of food keeping up with the demand of the line. It was fantastic food and crazy fun all in a communal tiny table as we eat ans enjoyed our experience with strangers. Off to the fresh produce where Leslie was salivating and clearly enamered with the articokes. I had to pry her away.

Shopping is incredible! Tons of small unique shops. While we typically are not shoppers we clearly see the high quality of the leather goods and authentic goods here we are slowly getting sucked in to becoming fanshionistas. Leslie had to pull me out of a shoe store where I was try to negotiate a pair of hand crafted loafers for $350 (what was I thinking - they were spectacular) she now has to buy me a pair in Rome maybe two.

Dodging the shoe bullet we ventured into a spectular deli/cheese shop where we picked up cheese, prosutitio, fresh bread and wine and headed back to our luxurious hotel for a snack and relaxation before headingback out for New Years Eve. We challenged our concierge to find us dinner reservation at the last min. of course they took it on with great succes! ten min later they are escorting us around the corner down and alley off a hidden canal we are introduced to Campo Dei Mori a wonderful seafood restaurant to get our confirmation on the menu and setting, in a quaint trattoria we are going to have a 7 course seafood feast. 8:30pm-11:30pm with enough time to make it to St Marks Square for the countdown of the new year and fireworks. Don't fear we have masks in hand! Happy New Year from Veniza ...MMXII
