Was like driving along a causeway
Set off from Pornic on Thursday. Travelled through countryside damaged by floods after the recent storms. Check out photos. Yet again managed to miss the disaster hope our luck keeps holding out. Were fooled by the Premier Class motel chain into thinking we had got a real bargain only to find out it was the Formula One motel chain renamed. Still basic and cheap no problem. Will use again. If anyone knows the Spanish equilvalent let us know.
La Rochelle is lovely. Has the only medieval lighthouse on the Atlantic. This is where Fort Boyad was filmed and Ronnie disappointed that Melinda Messenger was nowhere to be seen. The old quarter has lots of cobble streets and great restaurants. Had great couple of days there. From La Rochelle we moved to the gite in Brives-sur-Charente, Cognac on 6th March and have been there for a week. See next entry.
