Replica of the first plane to cross the Atlantic from Portugal to Brazil

Torre de Belem

What used to be a defense post then turned into a prison then into a customs stop and then was the only one of 7 (i think) left standing after many earthquakes

This is the bridge we crossed to get into the city ... look familiar? the architect also did the Golden Gate

Tower of Discoverers

This is a monument dedicated to all of those whole traveled the world and discovered new lands ... it is big and cool

These 'statues' are very large

it's built in resemblance of a ship (go figure!) and i'm pretty sure that's Columbus at the front

Just in case you weren't sure, the fine print tells us this monument was 'definitely made in stone' ....
