Welcome to London
I've always wanted to take a picture with these phone cabins so when I spotted one I literally ran for it.
On the summer of 2014, on my 15th birthday I asked for the best gift yet. One of my top ten wishes on my bucketlist. I made this amazing journey with my family to several countries in Europe and lived a lot of experiences full of adventure and culture to feel and learn.
My journey into Europe began on July. I remember I was so excited. Yes, we were going to travel very very early. When I was very little, one of my top ten wishes was to visit Europe and go to all those countries and see for myself the places that I have seen in movies or t.v. series. After packing my things, I was ready.
The plane was close to the big island that I was dying to visit. After a moment, the muffled voice of the captain could be heard, and of course there was me, not understanding a single word from him and asking my mother to repeat what he said. I peaked through the plane window and the light of the sun received me, making the sight of the sea and all those famous ancient buildings more beautiful. We had arrived to London.
After the long-16-hour trip, the journey began. London was the city that I wanted to visit the most. Ever since I saw 101 Dalmatians. When we arrived, I wanted to go shopping and visit the most as possible.
On our first day we went to
so many places. God, wasn't I tired? But it was so worth it. The very first thing I took a picture with was the red cabin phone. The minute I spotted one, I literally ran toward it, pushing people in the way and earning some crazy looks from some. After spending like 20 minutes with the cabins, we went to downtown. I literally fell in love with the streets. But when least expected, the sun had gone down, and I was craving for some sleep.
The next day, 8:00 am sharp, we went on a tour. Then, we decided to go to The London Eye. Me? I was speechless. The minute I put my step in the cabin, I was in trance. . I’ve always been scared of heights, but I was in London. I had to take that risk and it was so worth it. Seeing London from way up high was another experience.
We took this amazing train under the sea and after 2 hours, we were in France. The first few days we went to downtown, churches, and to the Seine River. We took this boat that transported us through the whole river.
A very funny memory I have of it is that there was this group of kids from a school, and I don’t know why but every time we went through a bridge, everyone would just scream and yell and laugh, me included. And believe me, there are a lot of bridges on the Seine River. Suddenly, when we were going through a little park, the tour guide said through the microphone with that movie-french-english-accent “Ladies and gentlemen, La Tour Eiffel.”
I was completely amazed. After seeing it literally everywhere, I couldn’t believe I was finally there. The next days we got the chance to visit it and go through the second floor. The view was amazing. When we had free time, my sister and me convinced my parents to fulfill one of our biggest bucket list wishes: Put a lock on the Lock Bridge, or how its actually called Les Ponts des Arts. And we did it!
The next day we went to the church Nôtre Damme. It was raining a lot. Outside the church there was this piece of copper with a star on it, it marked the mile 0 and the

I've seen it in movies and in tv shows. Finally I got the chance to see London from the sky. legend said that if you stepped on it, by any reason you would come back to France. When I put my foot on it, everything stopped. I felt a unique sensation, but everything happened so quickly and then we went inside the cathedral.
After those first few days, the trip went in a blur. The next stop was Belgium. I fell in love with the city. The buildings, the nice people, the food, everything was so perfect. There also I had my first beer. I remember getting stern looks from my parents but if I’m honest, I think that the waiters were actually excited. We went next to Netherlands, and believe me, it was really fun to go there because we were Mexicans and the FIFA World Cup had recently happened. That memorable game of Mexico vs. Netherlands and the #NoEraPenal was very recent, so people of course made jokes. We also went to another place that I fell in love with: The Anna Frank house. It was a bittersweet experience. Seeing how her life was so short and full of suffering, yet what a strong woman she was and how brave and mature she became. In there, my

There were girls my age and also guys. I was very happy to meet all those people: Mexicans, people from Paraguay, Argentina and other states from Mexico itself.
We left that side of Europe and traveled all the way down to Italy. The minute I put my feet on the dock of Venice, I closed my eyes and listened. Listened to the water of the sea crash with the walls, listened to people talking Italian, listened Volare being sung in the gondolas, the smell of pizza and pasta and the good vibe everything projected. We rode a gondola of course, and the guy that drove it was really really cute. I remember my father noticing me and my sister looking at him and then trying to take a “picture” of us that was casually in the direction of the guy. It made me laugh so hard. After Venice came Rome. Rome! I was speechless. We went to the Coliseum, to the main plaza full of white sculptures and people. Then we went to the Trevi Fountain. Another bucket list wish. But for my
good luck, it was in remodeling. Either way I didn’t care, I threw my coin.
After that, we went to one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen in my entire life. Not even the guy from the gondola was that beautiful. We went to Capri. The blue blue sea and those rocks. After taking a little tour there I decided that’s where I want to get married. Hopefully I will save enough to afford it. The time when we could appreciate the full view was when we took a big boat. There was a tiny dock outside and I went out the see even better. The salty wind in my face, the fresh air, the sight of the blue-greenish sea. I never wanted it to end.
We visited more countries, but I think I’ll leave it there. This journey has been one of the most special ones in my life and I gladly would live it all over again, not changing anything. I met new people, made new friends, learned a lot and met new cultures and new lifestyles. I want to travel the world when I grow up, and hopefully go back to Europe,
