This is a bit late! Sorry but we got caught up in the excitement of being home!

London

We arrived off the Eurostar at the new St Pancreas International station in King's Cross and after a quick detour to an internet cafe made our way out to Ciemon and Michael's place where they were kind enough to put us up for a couple of days. We had a good catch up that night over a couple of beers.

The next morning we headed into town to check out Westminster Abbey with it's hundreds of years of history. It was smaller inside than we had imagined but chock-full of royal and prestigious families and people. The poet's corner was fascinating with memorials to all the big names like Chaucer (the first buried here), Shakespeare, Byron, Dickens, Tennyson, the Bronte sisters and so on. It was also quite amazing to find the grave of Charles Darwin in another corner of the Abbey. After the Abbey we headed over to London’s newest attraction, the London Eye where we took a trip and got some great views over the city. It was a bit expensive though! We decided then to head

out on the tube to Wimbledon and, after getting lost in the park, found ourselves at the (fairly unimpressive) home of tennis in the UK. They’re renovating centre court and we didn’t get to see much but Mick was happy to at least get in

The next day we caught the bus out to Cardiff and Jason and Kirstyn picked us up. We had a nice night with dinner down at their local in Caerphilly although it was pretty quiet as they were both still sick and on antibiotics after their Trans-Siberian adventure. It was a quick visit and the next day we were back on the bus to London where we had a night out at the Temple Walkabout and later caught up with Olivia and Cristin at their going away in Soho.

Our last day in London was very cruisy with a trip out to Camden market where we met up with my old flatmate in Isa Tux. Camden is pretty cool and they have heaps of delicious authentic ethnic food stalls so we had a yummy lunch.

Singapore

We had a pretty good flight to Singapore the next day and it didn’t

seem too long although we were pretty tired when we arrived as we‘d watched too many movies and not slept much. We arrived in the evening and wandered down from our hotel to little India for a great meal before heading gratefully to bed.

We didn’t have too much planned for Singapore, just resting and hopefully getting a bit of sun. It was warm and humid as we wandered into town the next day and we had a quick look around before heading back to the hotel to chill out by the pool for a bit. That night we checked out Chinatown which was different from the sea of shopping malls downtown.

HOME!

The flight to Brisbane seemed longer and we didn’t get much sleep again. This time though we arrived in the morning and after getting the train to Mum and Dad’s hotel we headed off. Mick finally had his cravings satiated with lunch at Hog’s Breath for a great steak and then KFC for dinner. We were glad to get home to Tara and very excited to get some sleep! Now we’ve got a month of touring around meeting all the babies that seem

to have been born while we were away! It’s hard to believe that our big adventure is over, twelve months flew so fast and it’s been amazing to see so many places.

Unfortunately security was much tighter here so no jumping on centre court for Mick
