Just completed a superb narrow boat holiday on the LLangollen Canal. Biggest surprise was the Shropshire Lake District around Ellesmere, including Blakemere and Colmere. A hidden gem of Britain. The Llangollen canal has a great mix of rural countryside and engineering achievements like the Pontcysyltte and Chirk Aqueducts and the Chirk Tunnel. Llangollen itself is a nice town.
