Just spent a few days with my school friend Hilary and her husband in Somerset. It was all very jolly, and we had a lovely time with them. It had rained rather heavily just before we went, both here and there, but we made it through. One day we took a steam train along the coast to Minehead. The other day we went to a nature reserve on the Somerset levels, where we saw a swimming snake and a kingfisher, as well as enjoying a lovely walk.

The river Severn was still across the road in Welshpool, so we needed a diversion to begin with!
