I headed south to Somerset to visit my school friend Hilary this week. She took me to a nature reserve in a peat bog - though the posh write up is "the largest mire in the south west". Of course it was lovely, with lost of pools and birds and hides. Then one day we visited the old fashioned seaside town of Clevedon. Actually on the Severn estuary, with views across to south wales, rather than actual sea. But with the smell of seaweed and the sound of waves - and the ice cream shop.........
