The Rugby…Wales…England
It’s been hard finding the time to do an update but here goes-
We arrived in Cardiff and the first sign we saw was ALLAN it seems the Welsh have worked out what to do with their Allan’s as it means Exit. We loved Cardiff a good mix of the old and the new, the locals were also very friendly. We stayed at a farm B & B just west of Cardiff, the house was full of Rubgy fans so loads of fun. We caught a train into Cardiff for the Rugby and it was a sea of Red & White and Green & Yellow. We had great seats in the middle section on the halfway line right behind the press. We were a bit disappointed that the anthems were pre-recorded but we had a great bunch of Welsh guys behind us who belted out the tune. The atmosphere was wonderful and we had to keep pinching ourselves that we were there. We were going to head into England the next day but the Welsh had impressed us that much with their hospitality so on their advice we decided to travel up through Wales to Snowdonia country. Our first

night in that area, we ventured into a little church where a thirty voice male Welsh Choir was holding a concert when they heard there were a few Aussies in the crowd they played Waltzing Matilda. We continued through Wales enjoying the spectacular scenery thinking we were heading to England but with Sat. Nav and three navigators on board we managed to go out of Wales for a bit into England then somehow we found ourselves back in Wales again!!!!!! Lots of stories there over a good red about us getting lost!!!!! But once again we were blessed. We call the Sat. Nav. “Our Lady” (to Alan’s horror) and Marsh is called St Marsh as ever since he has arrived everywhere we go the Sun does Shine upon us. Alan reckons he’s the patron Saint of Weather and Wine!! It’s all the visits to Cathedrals etc that are making us more Holy. Laura and I have been recalling our church days in our youth. Though there are big gaps in Laura’s memory and we’re not sure if it’s the red wine or her feigning sick every time we went to Mass on Sundays!! Anyway by error we ended up in

a little Welsh Village once again, that has the famous Telford Aqua ducts, a sight we would have missed if we had of stayed on the correct road. With time now short in seeing England we had to decide what we could see before linking up with the Europe Tour. We decided to head down through Shrewsbury to Ludlow, Bath through Salisbury then onto London. We loved the old Tudor Houses in Ludlow. Once again St Marsh walked into the Tourist Info centre and the assistant nearly wet herself when she heard his surname. Her husband is of the Howland clan and there seems to be some link there, with some of Marsh’s ancestors having a service in their Honour in some Cathedral somewhere. Bath was a must see with the Roman Baths though Stonehenge was a bit disappointing. We hit London and managed to find the car hire place and return the car safely. London now has a congestion tax and once you cross a certain line heading into the City you have to pay. We treated ourselves and went off to the theatre that night for The Loin King didn’t think it would be my kind of thing

Titanics last calling place in Cork Harbour to pick up last lot of passengers also where the Herlihy's and Carey's would have embarked as they left their County of Cork, Ireland for Australia
but we all loved it, the costumes were just so creative. Laura and Marsh managed to walk around some of the sights of London beforehand. But we’ll have three days in London after the tour. Hope everyone is happy and well at Home. Unfortunately we’ve all caught a bit of flu but it hasn’t stopped us making the most of the trip. Love to all and once again thanks for all the news etc from Home. Love from the Aussie Gypsies (have also added a few left over photos from Ireland)
