14 June 2017 One of our main aims on this trip was to visit The Old Man of Hoy, at 450 feet the tallest sea stack in Britain. We achieved our aim today.
Rackwick is the start of the three-mile path along the coast and across the moors to the Old Man. We began the walk in sunshine but just before we reached our destination, sod’s law prevailed and cloud cover arrived. None the less we had a very happy couple of hours exploring the area around the stack, marvelling at the amazing and varied views and chatting to the other people who were there enjoying it with us.
