20 May 2017 The morning weather looked threatening but we took the pleasant half hour canalside cycle ride from The Falkirk Wheel to the Kelpies, huge 30m high steel equine sculptures by Andy Scott which are situated in the Helix park. The rain held off for us to enjoy a tour of these impressive structures and listen to the history and construction which led to their opening in 2014.
The rain hit us on our return journey but we soon recovered with some warming soup back at the van.
In the afternoon we drove to St Fillans near Loch Larn to visit our friends the Paveys.
